At Friedens, we are deeply invested in the spiritual development of children! Our Sunday School classes and midweek programs are designed to help kids know and love God and build healthy relationships with God, friends, family, teachers, and those who don't know Jesus.
Sunday School At Home & Online
In-Person Sunday School has resumed! We continue to offer online Sunday School for families who prefer to learn from home. (See videos below.)
In-Person Sunday School classes are offered for the following age groups: Age 3-3rd grade (with parent present) will meet in Fellowship Hall, 4th-6th grade meet in Room 10 (mezzanine level). Masks are required for both classes.
Our classes walk through the entire Bible in a multi-year cycle. While each class will study the same lesson each week, the teaching, games, crafts, and activities are designed specifically for each age group. Because of this, a family with kids in multiple classes will be able to discuss lessons together at home!
The curriculum is based on The Gospel Story Bible, which we give to all new first graders at the start of the ministry year. We also give Student Study Bibles to new fourth graders as their class transitions from using the children's Bible to reading passages out of the ESV Bible. Families that decide to make Friedens their church home mid-year are also able to receive Bibles.
iGnite - Midweek Children's Ministry (Not Currently Meeting)
iGnite is our midweek children's program for kids in 4K-4th grade. At iGnite, we encourage kids to internalize and apply God's Word through weekly Scripture memory. Each week, our opening time and lesson time focus on a verse from the Bible. We spend time singing, chanting, playing memory games, and learning what the verse means, so that the kids leave each night with a good foundation for memorization. While we don't "test" kids on their verses, we do encourage families to work together to memorize and review verses! Many of them have applications for daily life that can be used immediately, such as being "kind and compassionate to one another" (Ephesians 4:32). Others lay the foundation for internalizing the Gospel message: God loves us and wants a restored relationship with each of us through the forgiveness found in Jesus.
