God Wants Your Heart
"These words that I command you this day shall be upon your heart," God told the Israelites in Deuteronomy chapter 6. So often, we approach the Bible as we would a self-help book, full of tips on how to do this or be successful at that. And while the Bible does contain page after page of useful advice and wonderful examples of how we should live, its real value is that it reveals God's heart and mind to us. As has often been said, the Bible is a love letter whose words are aimed at our heart. Give God your heart and read the Bible every day, searching for His heart.
Go Beyond Belief, to Conviction
Parents, mark 7 to 10 p.m., Feb. 17, on your calendar and plan on attending the "Why Belief Matters" seminar at Elmbrook Church, featuring Josh McDowell. Learn how to raise up a generation of transformed followers of Christ who know why they believe what they believe. Talk to Pastor Kato for more information.
Men's Breakfast
The Men's Group will have its next monthly breakfast at 8 a.m. on Saturday, February 12th at the church. Plan on attending and bring a friend. Call Gary Schlenvogt, 692-6446, for more information.
Congregational Meetings
There will be brief congregational meetings following both Sunday worship services on Feb. 13th to elect the congregational president. Nominees are Jim Purdy and Gary Zirbes. Members also will vote on changes to the church constitution and bylaws. For more information on those changes, call the church office, 284-2471.
Indoor Golf Outing
The 2nd Annual Friedens Family Indoor Golf Outing has been set for March 11 at the church. Tee times start at 6:30 p.m. "Sponsors" are needed to design each of the 18 holes. Contact Pastor Don, 284-2471, for more information.
Computer Needed
The church library could use a new computer. Do you have one you are replacing or no long need? Call the church office.
VBS is Coming
A Vacation Bible School informational meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Feb. 24 in Fellowship Hall. Call the church at 284-2471 for more information.

Words of Jesus Online
The Words Online presents the words of Jesus, arranged thematically. Publisher Lee Cantelon was assisted in the project by scholars in Israel, Poland, France, Scotland, Canada and the United States. The web site offers more than two dozen translations, audio narrations, downloads for personal reading, a gallery of images, MP3 downloadable files and editions for the Palm Pilot.

Helps And Hollers
- Volunteers are needed to help in the sound and video ministry. Call Mike Bendt, 284-5499, for more information.
- Volunteers are needed for Early Childhood Ministry to man the nursery during worship and during Sunday morning growth groups. If you're not attending an adult growth group, this is a great opportunity for service, even if it's only one Sunday every other month or so. Call Kathy Kato at 268-6999.
- Pray for Friedens family members enduring cancer and other health issues, including Dawn Uselding, Peg Bannon, Warren Grady, Jeff Starr and Brandon Novack.
- Pray for Friedens family members who are out of work or underemployed, including Bridget Huston, Paul Olivent, Dan Dufner and John Newton. Do you know anyone in similar straits? Send the church an e-mail or call.
- For other prayer requests, call the church HEARTS Line, 284-7007. If you'd like a request added to the HEARTS Line, call the church office, 284-2471.
- Food Pantry needs this week include cereal, diet soup, pancake mix, syrup, cooking oil and shortening, canned pineapple, salt, hand soap and cash. Donations may be placed in the shopping cart in the west foyer. If you or someone you know needs help, please contact the church at 284-2471.
