FriedensNotes
Week of January 2, 2005
Everything is New
"The Lord's lovingkindnesses indeed never cease. For his compassions never fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness." (Lamentations 3:22-23). It's a new year and a time for making resolutions, pledges to institute change. But there's one thing that never changes - God's kind, compassionate love for you. As David reflected, "Your lovingkindness, O Lord, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness reaches to the skies." (Psalm 36:5). In the darkness that sometimes settles over our lives, we can be as sure of God's love as we are of the starry pinpricks that dot the night sky. And with each sunrise, we can be confident that he will faithfully accompany us throughout the day with which he has blessed us. Resolve now to look for God's love each day in 2005 and to commit yourself to walk with him.
Read The Bible in 2005
How do you think your spouse would feel if he or she wrote you a love letter and you never read it. Well, many Christians don't bother to read God's love letter, known as the Bible. Here's your chance. Commit with other Friedens family members to read through the entire Bible in 2005. You can find the reading plan in the monthly FriedensBote newsletter, the weekly FriedensNote e-mail newsletter or get a copy of the reading list at the information table in Fellowship Hall. There also is a handy bookmark with the reading plan. Also, check online where you can check the daily readings, find Bible study tools and even discuss what you read.
