Join The Parade
Want to march in the Port Washington Christmas parade Monday night? Join AWANA parents and children by meeting at 6 p.m. at church to get ready to march. Call Dave Wetzel, 285-3255, for more information.
Holiday Schedule Announced
Friedens will hold two Christmas Eve services, at 6:00 and 8:00 p.m., and one on Christmas Day at 10:00 a.m. The 6:00 p.m. service will feature the children's Christmas program as well as carols and special music from the choir. The 8:00 p.m. service will be a candlelight service with communion, carols and special music. In addition, there will be a 7:00 p.m. service on New Year's Eve.Volunteers are needed to help in the nursery at each of these services. To volunteer, please call Kathy Kato at 268-6999.
Other special holiday events include: church decorating at 6:30 p.m., Dec. 4; a Christmas bake sale the morning of Dec. 12; and caroling to local nursing homes and shut-ins, followed by a potluck dinner at church, starting at 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 12.
Call the church office for more information, 284-2471. Also, don't forget to order your poinsettias or to make a Christmas Memorial Fund donation. Look for the green form in your Sunday bulletin, or call the church office.
New Classes For Adults
Pastor Don will start a new "Study of Hebrews" beginning Nov. 28 and which will run through February. Other new classes in the offing include "New Testament Survey," taught by Dan Benson, and "A Life of Worship," taught by Doris Feider-Schlenvogt, both of which will begin the first Sunday in January. All three classes are held at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday. For more information on these classes and other growth groups, call Pastor Don at 284-2471.
'Help Me! I'm Reading the Bible'
Need help understanding the Bible. Visit www.helpmewithbiblestudy.org. It's a very elegantly and simply presented website with a step-by-step guide to studying the Bible. It's excellent for beginners as well as seasoned students of the Bible, providing a clear framework for studying it, gives clear disclosure about theological biases, and for advanced students, provides a sizeable list of topical studies and additional tools and resources.

HomeWord, sponsored by YouthBuilders.com, offers family-related articles such as "Why Your Faith Matters to Your Kids," "Why Dating Your Spouse is Good for the Whole Family" and "Top 10 Ways You Can Start Communicating Christ to Your Kids."
