Trick or Treat: Christians and Halloween
Are you wondering this Halloween how you might address this "dark" holiday from a spiritual perspective? We have some suggestions. Attend Friedens Fall Fest from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 31. There'll be games, food and fun for children up 5th grade. Kids should be accompanied by an adult. Stay for part of the fun or the whole thing. Invite your friends. Back home, turn on your porch lights and welcome trick-or-treaters with candy and an eternal treat, a Halloween-themed Gospel tract that can serve as an introduction to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Pick up a Halloween Tract Pack in the Friedens lobby or in the office. Also, Gospelcom.net has a number of resources to help you survive Oct. 31 without surrendering the night to the ghosts and goblins. Go here.

Where Are You When He's Not There
What do you do when you know you're supposed to worship and yet you feel like something is missing...and that something is God? You sing to an empty room. You pray to the ceiling tiles. You sacrifice praise -- to nothing. What do you do?.
An Unpredictable God, A Short Story
"It strikes me, that all of my life I have been waiting for the coming of what I have expected, and I wonder, Lord, if what I have expected is different than what you've planned." Read, "Keeping the Faith, a retelling of a biblical side note," based on Matthew 11:3.
