God is Pleased
"I know that the Lord is great, that our Lord is greater than all gods. The Lord does whatever pleases him, in the heavens and on the Earth, in the seas and all their depths."
Psalm 135:5-6What has God been pleased to do? "For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe." (I Corinthians 1:21). He was pleased to save ordinary people from the horrors of hell, no matter how great their sin or low their esteem in the eyes of the world. Have you thought wrong thoughts, made bad decisions, done what you please in opposition to God? Come to the loving, forgiving, great God. He will be pleased to see you.
"No power of hell, no scheme of man, can ever pluck me from his hand."

Anniversary Banquet
Tickets are still available for the Friedens 150th Anniversary Banquet to be held at 6 p.m. on July 30 at the Country Inn & Suites. Entertainment will be provided my illusionist Kirk Patrick and singer Shannon Patrick. Dinner will be catered by Saz's State House. Tickets are $17.50 for adults and $8.50 for children. Adopt a Missionary
Friedens family members support missionaries on nearly every continent. You can too. Pick up a Missionary Handbook and a Mission bank in Fellowship Hall. Use the handbook to pray for them and get their addresses so you can correspond with them too. Fill the bank with your loose change and turn it into Pastor Kato's office by July 25.
Awana Planning
It won't be long and Awana will be starting up again. All leaders and helpers are asked to attend an Awana planning meeting at 6:30 p.m., July 28, at church. Also, the Awana Inc. Commander, Director, Leader Meeting will be held at 7 p.m., Aug. 2, at Bethel Baptist Church in Sheboygan. Plan on meeting in the Friedens parking lot at 6:15 p.m. And on Oct. 2 is the Awana Leaders Conference. For more information, call Dave Wetzel at 285-3255.
Rescue Mission Trip
Join others from Friedens to serve dinner at the Milwaukee Rescue Mission on Aug. 1 from 4 to 6 p.m. Sign up in Fellowship Hall or call Doug and Marci Ferrell at 375-1009.

Life Begins at 80!?!
Former President George H. Bush recently showed that life need not end at 80. In fact, many of the Bible's greatest heroes began their greatest work as "seasoned citizens." Visit Campus Crusade's "Retirement with a Purpose" website for ideas and opportunities on how can make your retirement count for eternity.
