What Happens After '40 Days'?
The "40 Days of Purpose" campaign is over, but you still have a purpose. Continue to pursue your purpose by joining one of the many small groups that are forming and by getting involved in one or more of the many church ministry opportunities. Check out information in Fellowship Hall or give Pastor Don a call at 284-2471.
VBS To Be Very Busy
Those organizing this summer's Vacation Bible School say this year they are expecting one of the largest groups Friedens has ever had. But there's still room for more. Invite the children of your extended family, friends or your neighbors. There's also room for more volunteers. VBS meets this year from 8:30 to noon on June 1418. If you have some free time those hours, please call Pam Landon at 284-5916.
Women's Summer Study Group
A women's discussion group will study "Breaking Free" by Beth Moore from June 22 through Aug. 31. The group will get together from 1 to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays. Call Marci Ferrell at 375-1009 for more information. Plan to attend and bring a friend.
Congregational Meeting Planned
A special mid-year congregational meeting and ice cream social will be held at 6:30 p.m. , June 27 at the church. Topics to be discussed will include a "memorial garden," sidewalk replacement and 150th anniversary events. Child care will be provided.
Outdoor Worship Service
Friedens' annual outdoor worship service will be held at 10 a.m. on July 11 in Lower Lake Park at the band shell. Bring a lawn chair to sit in and a dish for the picnic after worship. Burgers, brats, buns, lemonade and coffee will be provided. Plus games galore. To volunteer with set up, food preparation or other tasks, call the church office.
Why The 'Lost' Gospels Lost Out
Can you trust that the Bible you read today is the authoritative Word of God, especially in light of recent attacks found in the best-selling book, "The Da Vinci Code," and other sources? The answer is a definite "yes." Read more
Get Out Of the Boat
Most of us would love to have the chance, like Peter, to walk on the water with your Savior. But could you handle the stormy seas? Would you have the courage to get out of the boat in the first place? Read Eva Marie Everson's article.
Apologetics For Youth and Adults
"Defend Your Faith," a new apologetics website, introduces high school and college students to scientific, historical, Biblical and logical evidence in defense of their faith. Youth will find hundreds of links to excellent apologetics resources. Check it out
