O Sing Unto the Lord

"When I remember you on my bed, I meditate on you in the night watches, for you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I sing for joy. My soul clings to you," David wrote (Psalm 63:6-8). Do you cling to God or do you turn to other sources of comfort when you're in trouble or in doubt? Do you meditate (literally, chew on) what God has done for you and wants to do for you or do you waste precious hours worrying about what might happen to you? Do you sing to God, or murmur in your heart? Having a heart for God like David did isn't easy for many of us. But each of us can do one thing today that he did – sing to the Lord. That might be a good place to start in changing our heart.

'40 Days' Sermon Tapes Available

One key component of the "40 Days of Purpose" campaign is the sermon given each week by Pastor Mark during worship services on Saturday night and Sunday morning. If you or someone in your discussion group are unable to attend, please call Mike Bendt, 284-5499, or the church office, 284-2471, to get one.

Aren't You Special

Do you have a special day coming up – a birthday, anniversary or other family news. Give the church office a call so that word can get out in the church bulletin, the weekly FriedensNote e-mail newsletter and the monthly FriedensBote.

Maybe You Should Stop Praying

"I think I've come to the conclusion that most of us, myself included, just need to stop praying. ...I think that the reason why we don't have a more vital life of prayer is that we are afraid," writes Bob Hyatt on The Ooze website. That's because to pray—to truly pray, to truly care—is to change. Read more

God Has No Retirement Plan

Campus Crusade's "Retirement with a Purpose" website attempts to motivate retirees to participate in short-term missions and community outreach programs. It also provides lifestyle resources on health, marriage, grandparenting, devotions, news, weather, e-cards, hobbies and more. Also, before you ever think about that rocking chair, take a minute to read "Can God Use Me?" Go to: http://www.RetirementWithAPurpose.com/ and http://www.RetirementWithAPurpose.com/cangoduseme.html.

No Apologies For Apologetics

Is Christianity the only true religion? What is the Trinity? Is there a hell? If you've ever wondered about these questions—or been confronted with them by somebody criticizing or struggling with the Christian faith—the Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry (CARM) is a great place to go for help finding Biblical answers. Go to http://www.carm.org/.

Community – The Cry Of Every Soul

Adam had all the animals to keep him company. He even had a personal relationship with God himself in the garden. Yet God said he needed the companionship of another human being. We are made for "community." Read more about the soul's cry for intimacy.
