Keep Looking Up
In Psalm 57: 8-10, during one of the lowest points in his life, David writes: "Awake my soul! Awake harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn. I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies." In this Psalm, David looks up at the night sky, just before the dawnever hear about things being "darkest before the dawn?"and he sees the star-dotted sky and concludes that God, the ever-loving Creator, is still in charge, each pinpointed heavenly body an expression of God's love in the darkness. Then the sun rises and reminds him that the ever-faithful Lord will be with him always, morning by morning, day after day. So it is with us. Keep looking up, even when things look dark.

'40 Days' is Here
Are you wondering where you're headed in life? What's your purpose? About 200 people are asking themselves the same questions and are forming about 20 discussion groups this week as part of Friedens' "40 Days of Purpose" campaign. If you haven't signed up with a group, it's not too late. Talk to Theresa Zahurance, at 268-6839, or one of the pastors, to see what groups still have room. Groups will meet once a week for the next six weeks. Don't miss out.
Are You Dreaming or Dying?
As individuals, we are either dreaming or dying. It's one or the other. We're either heading for higher ground, fulfilling God's purpose for our lives, or we're merely existing and moving along on a slow, or maybe not so slow, journey to the grave. How do you discover your God-given dream? Read: Part I and Part II.
