Be All That You Can Be

That's the motto we hear in recruitment advertising for the U.S. Army. Perhaps, you've made resolutions to help you "be all you can be in 2004." God wants you to achieve that goal too. There's a difference, however, in the way success is normally achieved in the world and how it is achieved in God's kingdom. In Mark 9:35, Jesus says, "If anyone wants to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all." Greatness, according to God's economy, is achieved through serving. As you establish your goals for 2004, consider how God might help you achieve greatness by employing you as a servant.

Rescue Mission Trip Planned

Adults from Friedens will be helping serve dinner at the Milwaukee Rescue Mission on Jan. 11. Meet at the church parking lot at 3:15 p.m. and returning at about 6:30 p.m. Call Marci Ferrell at 375-1009 for more info.

Have a Heart

Need someone, something to pray for. Check out the Friedens Hearts Line at (262) 284-7007. Current requests include Lila Kohn who has undergone additional surgery for her cancer and for those who are restricted to staying at home or in care facilities. Also pray for the church as it enters its 150th year, our pastors and the many people in our community who need Christ in their lives but haven't yet found him. HEARTS is an acronym for Heaven's Ears are Responsive To Supplication. If you have a prayer request you'd like included on the Hearts Line, call the church office at (262) 284-2471.

Annual Meeting – Be There

Friedens' annual business meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Jan. 25 and be preceded by a churchwide potluck dinner at 5 p.m. Please plan on attending. Call the church office at 284-2471 for more information.

Blaze Winter Retreat

Mark your calendar to attend the Blaze Winter Retreat Jan. 31 - Feb. 2. at Camp Zion in Door County. Fun in the snow and a chance to grow in your relationship with the Lord and with others. Stay tuned for more information or talk to Pastor Mark Kato.

Membership Anyone?

If you missed the recent membership workshop, don't despair. Give Pastor Don a call at 284-2471 and set up an appointment.
