In Search Of…

This week the Search Committee interviews a candidate for Associate Pastor for Assimilation and Discipleship. This staff person will work closely with the Evangelism Committee to seek out and welcome those in need of spiritual direction as well as coordinate the church's efforts to build up and equip adults in the church for Christian living and service. Please pray for this effort. God is showing us some great candidates for each of the 2 associate positions we desire to fill. (The other staff person will coordinate and strengthen our ministries with children and youth.) We hope to present one of the candidates for your approval in the very near future! Blessings! — Pastor Mark

Sunday Is Mother's Day

Bring Mom to church this Sunday. Bring your aunt, sister, grandmother or daughter too. Even your female neighbor or co-worker while you're at it. Every woman attending worship on Sunday will receive a free red rose.

Behind Every Great Man...

Is a woman who is praying for him. Diane Bristow has developed a 31-Day Prayer Plan for wives to follow so they can lift up their husbands to God. "Lifting your husband up in prayer for 31 straight days will make a difference in your relationship with him and your heavenly Father," Bristow writes. You can find the plan at: 31 Day Prayer Plan.

Have A Heart

Speaking of prayer, you can find out at any time who in the Friedens family is in need of prayer by calling Friedens' HEARTS line at (262) 284-7007. You'll hear a 90-second recorded message naming those currently in need of prayer. The recording is updated daily, seven days a week. To be included, please call the Church Office at (262) 284-2471. HEARTS is an acronym for Heaven's Ears are Responsive to Supplication.

Our Inability vs. God's Ability

Oswald Chambers in "My Utmost for His Highest," a daily devotional that can be accessed through Friedens' website, http://www.friedenschurch.org: "If Jesus ever commanded us to do something that He was unable to equip us to accomplish, He would be a liar. And if we make our own inability a stumbling block or an excuse not to be obedient, it means that we are telling God that there is something which He has not yet taken into account. Every element of our own self-reliance must be put to death by the power of God. The moment we recognize our complete weakness and our dependence upon Him will be the very moment that the Spirit of God will exhibit His power." .
