Message from Pastor Mark

Passionate, Powerful Prayer Preferred!

Hi, I'm Pastor Mark. World events give us a tremendous opportunity as Christians to cry out to God in faith with passionate, powerful, persistent prayers for His majesty and authority to be displayed. Evil is fighting hard….Christians: it's time to fight back. For more information about HOW to fight back in a BIBLICAL way, read Ephesians 6:10-18 and be in church next Sunday where we'll look into this passage and apply it to our lives - together. Blessings!

Easter Outreach Planned

Friedens is launching an Easter Outreach campaign that includes sending special invitations to about 10,000 households in north Ozaukee County. Easter is a time when many people not active in church fellowship look to attend services somewhere. Also, in light of current events, many people will keenly feel their spiritual need and look to churches for help and guidance. A large number of visitors can be expected at Friedens this Easter season and additional volunteers are needed help us be good hosts and to meet visitors' needs. The outreach effort is being overseen by the Evangelism Committee. Volunteers are needed to be greeters, bring food, help put together information kits and welcome gift baskets, among other tasks. If you'd like to be involved, call Dan Benson at 268-0755.

Friedens in the News

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel featured Friedens' renovation efforts in Sunday's Metro North editions. Check out Sanctuary Being Reborn in time for Easter at the Journal-Sentinal web site.

Driven to Serve?

On A Mission From God

High school teens have until this Friday, March 28, to register for the short-term mission trip to an Indian reservation in Leech Lake, Minnesota. The trip will July 20-25. Call the church office at (262) 284-2471 for more information.

Happy, Happy, Happy

Wish Happy Birthdays to Owen Hughes, Richard Hauser and Ray Schwinn, and Happy Anniversaries to Trent and Karen Schanen, Skp and Katie Emory and Terry and Maryann Stoecker. (Do you want to receive notes from well-wishers in the mail? Who doesn't? Then let the rest of the church know when your birthday or anniversary is by e-mailing the church at frchurch@execpc.com or dropping a note in the offering plate on Sunday.)

Improve Your Serve

Volunteers go to Cedar Lake Home on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month (typically) to help the staff and residents there. There's always room for more in the van that leaves from the church. Contact Dorothy Yurske at (262) 284-0896 or Fred Gall at (262) 284-5087 for more information. All ages welcome.

Volunteers of the Week

Give thanks for the good folks who sing in the church choir and on the worship team. Besides helping lead the music each Sunday, they also give up one night a week to practice. Do you have a desire to sing praises to God? Then get involved. Just show up at the church on Thursdays at 7 p.m.

It's A Guy Thing

The Men's Bible Study just began a study of the Book of Judges. More are always welcome. If you're looking to study the Bible with a group of guys, stop by. The group meets at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays at the church.

Movie Night Planned

BLAZE, the Friedens teen group, will have a movie/pizza/ice cream night from 7 p.m. to midnight on Saturday, April 5th, at the church. The evening is free. Bring a friend!

Link of the Week

Join with President Bush in prayer by visiting The Presidential Prayer Team web site. You even can "adopt" a member of the military at their "Let's Adopt Our Troops in Prayer" page.

What's the Difference?

About 85% of American's claim to be Christian (of the remaining 15%, 8% are atheist and 7% are other religions such as Jewish, Buddhist and Muslim). The problem is that Christians are called to live differently than non-Christians, and research shows that American Christians do not act like Christians. The following information comes from Barna Research:
