Plan and Time Line – Gary Schlenvogt

• Choir loft to become seating and Audiovisual control room, with raised seating. This would open space underneath for class and meeting room.
• Storage to be moved from current room to space behind the Alter (East side).
• Removable seating for special events.
• Enlarged Chancel.
• Raised platform.
• Audiovisual screen with improved viewing.
• Two new windows (stained glass) on East side.
• Access to Bell Tower.
• Add door on South wall. o Access to Memorial Hall from the East.

• Pending approval by Congregation work could start 11/04/02 and be finished by the 3rd week in April.

Budget, Ray Schwinn

• Insurance settlement to be $843,672.82.
• Remodeling with East Wall location – $112,000.00.
• Organ credit, $66,000.00.
• Other credits, $66,000.00.
• Roughing Air Conditioning to be $14,000.00.
• Total cost of Air Conditioning to be $34,000.00.
• Discussion.
  • Nancy Grady, questioned storage under the choir, no office and movable pews.
  • Warren Hadler, questioned how many pews and rows of chairs. Number of pews to be determined, 5 rows of chairs with multiple styles to choose from.
  • Dan Benson, questioned seating capacity of 214 from 236.
  • Debbie Bendt, stated that the money for the Kitchen (as was) is in the settlement. Need to develop total cost of remodeling.
  • Sue Voll, questioned placement of door below the window on South wall.
  • Geralyn Esselman, door is needed per building code.
  • Bill Paape, request a poll of Building Committee members to see if there was a difference of opinion.
    • Litha Mueller, original thought was to leave as is.
    • Kevin Grady, mixture of membership, tours helped and different ideas presented.
    • Ray Schwinn, layout to fit Mission Statement the best, had some cost overrun concerns.
  • Cost to rebuild Organ as was is $1 16.000.00, Organ Committee proposed digital organ & piano at a cost of $60,000.00, which would be the best Stewardship of insurance settlement money.
    • Fred Gall, stated that the Organ Committee made no vote and that the Organ should be repaired.
  • Allow for increased Classrooms for Christian Education.
  • Doris Schlenvogt, questioned availability for coats to be hung at East entry.
  • Eric Eberhardt, questioned that there was no Cross in presented design. This will be covered in the plan. Also requested that funds be made available for installation of Air Conditioning.
• Motion by Ed Kohn, Second by Tim Sukow, to accept Building Committee's recommendation, vote passed with 2 nays.
• Motion by Karen Wetzel, Second by Tim Sukow, to install Air Conditioning in Sanctuary, vote passed unanimously.
• Motion by Eric Eberhardt, Second by Gary Mueller, to use fire loss money to fund Air Conditioning, vote passed unanimously.
• Alice Rabenhorst stated her personal thank you to the Building Committee for their effort during this process.
• Lisa Krier would like to have better drawings made available for members.
• Questioned if there is any interest in the old Organ.
