- Direction from the Congregation from the January Meeting will be address tonight.
- The financial position of the Church is good and currently debt-free.
- Review of Now Account, Mission Fund, Improvement Fund, Memorial Fund, Special Mission Fund & Evangelism Fund.
- Review of investment CD's.
- Normal investments.
- Fred Opitz estate.
Organ replacement Rose Morgan
- Presented List of members.
- Current organ was built and purchased in 1914 for $1600.00.
- Will have many choices and decisions.
- Expert opinion is not to replace/recondition existing organ.
- A number of organ types to choose. o Recommend Scott Riedel & Associates to assist in the evaluation process.
- Question from Nancy Mueller, will assistance continue through building and installation process?
- Question from Paul Kopp, is consulting cost total?
- Nancy Grady, will the new organ be able to be moved to different facility?
- Question from Dave Sather, is total cost 3% or $65.00/ hour which ever is less?
- Pastor Mark Voll identified the Paul & Ester Beer bequest for organ to be valued at approximately $150,000.00.
- Litha Mueller, good idea to have a consultant.
- Mike Bendt, length of service left in current unit - 6 months to 2 years. a Motion by Kevin Grady, Second by Litha Mueller to approve contract with Scott Riedel & Associates with an initial expense of $500.00.
Building Committee Kevin Grady
- Presented a list of members.
- Kevin Grady, Jerry Parker, Ray Schwinn, Kent Kohn and Gary Schlenvogt.
- Purpose is to fulfill Church's Mission Statement.
- Seek out Families and people.
- Positive growth
- 250 for both services.
- Christian Education has 100 students' and 12 teachers.
- AWANA 70 people.
- BLAZE 35 people.
- Uses.
- Worship, AWANA, BLAZE, Christian Education, Choir/Organ practice and Community Groups.
- Survey.
- Large enough room.
- Room use effective.
- What would make it better?
- Christian Education is at maximum.
- AWANA needs additional space and different setup.
- Parking problem, no solution available.
- Better utilization of Memorial Hall, Youth room dividers, adjust times and better sound proofing of existing rooms.
- Ward Taylor group.
- Based on Bible practices.
- Space utilization.
- Return in September to see Church in action.
- Short-term solution is to utilize existing space.
- Future needs addressed by development of a long-term growth plan.
- Question from Paul Kopp, would initial focus of consultant be for existing facility use?
Transportation Ray Schwinn
- Driven by issues addressed at the January Congregation Meeting, with follow-up requested in June.
- Mission trips and outreach.
- Rentals hard to find, need to use private vehicles, drivers, and insurance risk to owner.
- Avoid personal vehicles, available when needed.
- Safety.
- Church insurance coverage.
- Research 15 vs. 25 passenger vehicles and identify pros/cons.
- Other Church's experiences, moving away from buses to vans.
- Question from Paul Kopp, cost range for motion, lease with option to buy?
- Question from Dave Sather, would diesel be considered? Not for 15 passenger.
- Question from Tom Morgan, what would price of new vehicle be?
- Motion by Paul Kopp, Second by Mike Bendt to recommend Church Council to evaluate purchase/lease of new/used vehicle not to exceed $25,000.00, vote passed unanimously.
Multimedia Pastor Mark Voll
- Uses.
- Church programs.
- VBS skits.
- Worship services.
- Sermons.
- Announcements.
- Move to next phase.
- Proposal from Sound Design.
- Cost $8000.00, with donations of $1500.00 & $8000.00 already received.
- Question from Eunice Bartelt, would this cover cost of organ pipes.
- Question from Joe McGinty, regarding size of screen, source, VHS, Laptop, more expansion and view from side.
- Question from Dave Sather, clarity and location.
- Motion by Doris Noster, Second by Paul Kopp to spend up to $1500.00 of Church Funds plus acceptance of designated personal gifts, vote passed unanimously.
Mission Committee Matt MacKellar
- Proposal submitted to Church Council.
- Brought before Congregation for approval.
- Overall need to raise additional funds for current and new Mission projects.
