2001 Mission Team Report

The Mission Team serves the church by planning and implementing a strategy to support local, regional, and international outreach and by helping to educate the congregation about our shared responsibility to carry out the "Great Commission" (Matthew 28:18-20 and Acts 1:8)

A complete list of those local, regional and international outreach ministries and the support received in 2001 is in the Treasurer's Report.

This past year, the Mission Team has also focused on developing strategies to improve communication with the missionaries we support. It is our desire to support them, not only with finances, but with ongoing prayer and correspondence. The Mission Team also assisted in hosting visiting missionaries.

In 2002, the Mission Team will work to further develop closer ties to our missionaries and will also be focusing on helping everyone in the church to gain awareness of our church's wider mission and each Christian's responsibility to be an active part of it.

The Mission Team in 2001 included: Donna Schlenvogt, Lisa Krier, Kent Kohn, Sandra Hughes, Dorothy Yurske, Nancy Grady, and Lorraine Kendall. Additional persons can be added to important ministry by appointment of the Church Council. Simply make your interest know and you'll be welcomed to the Team.
