2001 Evening Women's Guild Report
The Evening Guild consists of women of the church who are willing to minister to the need of others. We meet on an as-needed basis. Friedens Evening Guild continues to help, organize, prepare, and serve food for funerals and where a meal has been requested. More specifically, these duties include calling church members for desserts, ordering and preparing the food, and clean up after the dinner. Sysco food shows have been attended by the Evening Guild members so our church dinners can continue to offer great meals.
Two church dinners were held in 2001. April's dinner raised monies for twins of a Bluegrace member and October's dinner raised monies toward the Guild and more of our ministry projects. Cookies and breads were sold in December for another fundraise project. Also in 2001, the evening Guild began a new ministry called "Coffee Breaks". This provides Christian woman an opportunity to come together as a group and share in each other's company. As of this month, two "Coffee Breaks" have been hosted.
The Evening Guild has also been working on some renovations in our Friedens library. Chairs and fabrics are being considered at this time. 2002 is projected to be a great year for the Guild and our ministry. A CPR class will be offered in memory of Marlene Gall.
