Blaze for Teens

Blaze is about lighting a fire in the heart of Friedens’ teenagers for God and for others. Blaze is about teens getting real about God, about themselves and about their place in the community and the world.

Each week, there are events where Blaze teens get together to have fun and get serious. These are:

Sunday mornings: There are classes for Junior High and Senior High students at 9 a.m at church.

Blaze Sunday Night: Sunday night, from 6 to 8 p.m. at church, is the big Blaze bash where everyone gets together for fun, food and friends. We spend time learning from God’s Word and in prayer too.

Wednesday Night Junior High Boys Bible Study, also known as DOGs (Disciples of God): This weekly study group is aimed at preparing our Junior High boys to be men of God by digging into His Word and learning from Godly adult men. It meets from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Junior High Girls Bible Study: Like the boys group, this is a great time for girls to get together and learn to apply God’s Word to their lives. It meets from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays in Port Washington.

Service projects, retreats and missions: Our teens periodically engage in service projects, go on retreats or on short-term mission trips. Service projects have included helping senior citizens with projects around their house or serving meals at the Milwaukee Rescue Mission. Their retreats include an annual winter retreat to Door County. And mission trips have been made to New Orleans, Mexico, Chicago and other places. Their next mission trip is a one-week trip to Matamoros, Mexico, in August.
