For six weeks, Friedens Church will be embarking on a journey called Not a Fan, during which we will seek to move beyond simply being a “fan” of Jesus to becoming completely committed followers. This journey will include a Not a Fan sermon series, Not a Fan LifeGroups to enable you to share the journey with others, and the option of a daily Not a Fan “Follower’s Journal” to go even deeper in your commitment to Jesus. Forever Families

Forever Families is a ministry of Friedens Church to support adoption, orphan care and foster parenting. “Forever Families” refers to the permanent and lifelong bond between parents, children and siblings in adoptive families. “Forever Families” ministry strives to help local families fund their adoption processes, along with helping support the needs of many children who are currently in orphanages and foster care waiting and hoping for a “forever family.”
Our church recognizes that while we can’t meet the needs of all 147 million orphans worldwide, we can encourage adoption, orphan care and foster parenting by:

Sharing information and raising awareness about adoption
Empowering families to become licensed for foster care
Encouraging families in the church who are currently providing foster care
Equipping families who are eager to adopt with finances to aid in the adoption
Providing ongoing encouragement and resources to adoptive families
Reaching out to orphans in our community and in countries around the world

Through a wide range of education and equipping, these offerings will seek to address the needs of children and families in our area and around the world. We hope you will be able to partner with us!… Read the rest

Sunday Morning Adult Groups

Sermon Discussion Group: Dig deeper into topics raised during the sermon that Sunday. Facilitated by Pastor Brandon Lemons and Jeff Morgan. Meets in the library.

“Precepts Upon Precepts ~Learn the book of Titus” – for those who are new to reading or studying their Bible. Facilitated by Doris Feider-Schlenvogt. Meets in lower level (below Pastor Brandon’s office).

“Explore the Bible: Romans”. Facilitated by Beverly Tyree. Meets in the mezzanine north classroom.

“Living Sent Lives in Real Life”. Facilitated by Dan and Vicki Benson. Meets in the Wiggle Room, just off the west foyer.

Service Project Sunday

Our first Service Project Sunday was held on Sunday, October 23 at 9:25am in the Fellowship Hall. The focus for this first project was creating care packages for the twelve missionary families that Friedens sponsors. Hands of all ages to joined to create a few items filled with prayers and personal expressions of encouragement from all of you. It was be a busy and exciting day as we embarked on this new program for the Friedens Family. Many helping hands made this a great success for our missionary families.
